Enroll Medi-Pak® Advantage and Medi-Pak® Rx PDP members telephonically starting June 1

Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield is launching a telephonic enrollment program for Medi-Pak® Advantage and Medi-Pak® Rx PDP (prescription drug plan) enrollments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Phone-based enrollment will add a new, safer option for both members and agents/brokers as we approach the busy annual enrollment period.

In addition to this new telephonic enrollment process, we plan to launch Ascend (a new enrollment platform for Medi-Pak Advantage and Medi-Pak Rx PDP plans) before annual enrollment time arrives.

Ascend will give you the flexibility you need to enroll clients safely and efficiently. We will share more details about this new platform this summer!

Beginning June 1, 2020, we will begin accepting Medi-Pak Advantage and Medi-Pak Rx PDP phone enrollments at 800-844-9065 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Types of plans can you enroll telephonically
Phone enrollment will only be available for Medi-Pak Advantage and Medi-Pak Rx PDP.

At this time, we will not accept telephonic enrollments for Medi-Pak, dental and vision plans. Please continue to submit Medi-Pak® Medicare supplement plan enrollments and dental and vision enrollments electronically through Blueprint for Agents.

Here’s what you need to know about the telephonic enrollment process:

Making the call
After you complete a compliant sales presentation, you have two options to complete a telephone enrollment:

  1. You can initiate a three-way call with your client and our Agent Marketing team and stay on the line for the data-entry process
  2. You can ask our Agent Marketing team to initiate a three-way call with you and your client and leave the call whenever you wish

During the call
In both scenarios, our Agent Marketing team will ask you to provide your National Producer Number (NPN), the enrollee’s name and the plan selection before they begin the enrollment. We will also confirm that a signed and dated Scope of Appointment is on file.

We will not record your sales presentation. Only the enrollment will be recorded.

The entire phone enrollment process should take approximately 15 minutes.

After the call
Once the call is completed, you will receive a confirmation number via email.

As long as you provide your NPN, you will be listed as the agent of record and receive credit for the sale.

As a reminder, our Agent Marketing team will serve only as data-entry representatives. They are not appointed to sell our products, therefore they are not trained to discuss our plans and benefits.

As always, if you have questions about this process, please contact your Arkansas Blue Cross representative.
